Gerçek ismi Richard Starkey olan İngiliz müzisyen Ringo Star, 7 Temmuz 1940 yılında doğmuştur. 1962-1970 yılları arasında Beatles grubunun bateristi idi. Müzik hayatına Rory Storm and the Hurricanes adlı Liverpool`lu bir grubun bateristi olarak başladı; 1959 yılından 1962 yılına dek bu grupta çaldı. 16 Ağustos 1962 tarihinde Beatles, bateristleri Pete Best`i gruptan atınca onun yerine Ringo`yu seçtiler. Beatles dağıldıktan sonra Ringo Starr, solo çalışmalara başladı. Ayrıca bazı filmlerde rol almıştır.
