Avery`s luckless streak continued — he was tortured at least once more by Voldemort, the second time occurring in ``Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix`` when Augustus Rookwood debunked the information Avery had given Voldemort concerning Broderick Bode being able to take the prophecy from the Department of Mysteries.

He participated in the Department of Mysteries battle and was paired up with Walden Macnair. He was apprehended at the Department of Mysteries and afterwards sent to Azkaban prison.

Alecto and Amycus Carrow

Alecto and Amycus Carrow are siblings (sister and brother, respectively, possibly fraternal twins) who participated in the assault on Hogwarts school. Amycus is described as being squat and lumpy with a lopsided leer and a wheezy giggle; Alecto is referred to as a "``stocky little woman``" and shares her brother`s squatness and laugh. They are "``the Carrows``" mentioned by Snape in the second chapter of the sixth book. Alecto taught Muggle Studies, which became a compulsory subject, and taught students how despicable and horrible Muggles were. They were defeated and restrained by Harry, Luna Lovegood and Minerva McGonagall shortly before the Second Battle of Hogwarts.

Amycus is a hero in Greek mythology and can also be a vulgarization of the Latin word "``amicus``", meaning "``friend``" (in this case, a friend of Voldemort). Alecto is one of the Furies, the Greek goddesses of revenge. -

Antonin Dolohov

Antonin Dolohov is described as having a long, pale and twisted face and was one of the five Death Eaters who murdered Gideon and Fabian Prewett (Molly Weasley`s brothers). He also tortured many Muggles and opponents of Voldemort during the first war. Dolohov was caught shortly after Igor Karkaroff, who named him during his own trial. He was sent to Azkaban, but escaped during the mass breakout of January 1996.

He fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, injuring Hermione Granger in the process, but was defeated and returned to Azkaban prison. He escaped once more and fought in The Battle of Hogwarts, reportedly battling Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks, and was the one who most likely killed them. Dolohov was later defeated by Filius Flitwick. -

Fenrir Greyback

Fenrir Greyback is a werewolf. He is aligned with the Death Eaters as a Snatcher (a group of Death Eaters and other wizards that search the country for "Mudbloods" and other wanted wizards). Greyback thirsts for blood even when he is not in wolf shape.

In ``Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince``, Greyback attacks Bill Weasley, thus permanently altering his face due to the unhealable bite wounds.

In ``Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows``, Greyback plays the role of a Snatcher, and finds Harry, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in their camp because they used The Dark Lord`s name when it was made Taboo, and brings them to Malfoy`s Manor where he shows sheer jealousy of the Dark Mark that is tattooed on the Death Eaters` left arms. During the final battle at Hogwarts, he is defeated by Ron and Neville Longbottom. Greyback`s final victim was Lavender Brown whom he attacked during the Battle of Hogwarts. It is unknown whether she was actually bitten or just knocked over as Hermione cursed Greyback as soon as the latter pounced on Brown. -

Herpo the Foul

Herpo the Foul was an ancient Greek Dark wizard who bred the first known Basilisk. He appears on Famous Wizard card number 4 and in the book ``Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them`` under "Basilisk". Herpo was also one of a short list of known Parselmouths (others include: Salazar Slytherin, Marvolo Gaunt, Morfin Gaunt, Merope Gaunt, Lord Voldemort and Harry Potter).

Herpo`s name derives from the Greek ``herpeton`` which means "reptile" and/or ``herpo`` which means "to creep". -

Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange are a pair of Death Eaters. They are brothers, and Rodolphus is married to Bellatrix Lestrange. Alongside Bellatrix and Barty Crouch Jr, the two brothers aided in the Cruciatus torture of Frank and Alice Longbottom, driving both of the Longbottoms into insanity.

All three Lestranges were formerly imprisoned in Azkaban until their escape in January 1996, along with several other Death Eaters; Rodolphus and Rabastan were re-imprisoned after the Death Eater attack on the Ministry.

Rodolphus Lestrange was mentioned by Sirius Black as having been among Severus Snape`s "friends" at Hogwarts. A Lestrange was also part of Tom Marvolo Riddle`s class. This Lestrange is most likely the father of Rodolphus and Rabastan.Fact|date=July 2007

Rabastan and Rodolphus are described in ``Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire`` as "a thickset man who stared blankly up at Crouch" and "a thinner, more nervous-looking man whose eyes were darting around the crowd", though no indication is given as to which was which. Rodolphus and Bellatrix are described as being Lord Voldemort`s most loyal followers. The name Rabastan may be a variation on "Rastaban", the name of a star in the constellation Draco, and translates as "head of the serpent".

Walden Macnair

During the Battle of Hogwarts in ``Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows``, Macnair is knocked into the wall by Hagrid, and falls unconscious. -

Nott

Nott is the father of Theodore Nott, a Slytherin student at Hogwarts, in Harry`s year. Rowling mentioned on her website that he is an elderly widower.

Nott was a Death Eater and after Lord Voldemort`s fall, he wormed his way out of Azkaban, but joined him when he rose again in ``Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire``. Nott was involved in the battle in the Department of Mysteries in ``Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix``, and was injured. After he was stunned by Hermione Granger, Lucius Malfoy ordered the rest of the Death Eaters to leave him there. -

Augustus Rookwood

Augustus Rookwood was an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries, who was a Death Eater spy during Voldemort`s first rise to power. He was friendly with Ludovic Bagman`s father, offering him a job in the Ministry of Magic. Rookwood acted as though he was aiding the anti-Voldemort cause, but proved to be a double agent. He gained information from many, including Bagman, and had other unwitting agents throughout the Ministry and the rest of the Wizarding world.

Igor Karkaroff named Rookwood during his own trial, and Rookwood was sent to Azkaban but escaped in the mass breakout of January 1996.

After his escape, Rookwood returned to Voldemort, and informed him that Avery`s information about Bode being able to steal the prophecy was incorrect. Since Rookwood was an employee of the Department of Mysteries, it can be assumed he helped in the planning for the raid on the Department of Mysteries. He also took part in the fight there. He was at the Death Chamber battle, where he was seen duelling with Kingsley Shacklebolt, casting the Avada Kedavra death curse.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he caused an explosion that killed Fred Weasley during The Battle of Hogwarts, and was chased by Percy Weasley, who had become distraught over the death of his brother. Rookwood was finally subdued by Aberforth Dumbledore with a Stunning Spell.

In his mugshot in the Daily Prophet, Rookwood is described as having a pockmarked face and greasy hair, and looking bored. -

Evan Rosier

Evan Rosier (d. 1980) was killed by Aurors, shortly after Igor Karkaroff`s capture. While resisting arrest, he took a big chunk out of Mad-Eye Moody`s nose. Sirius Black recalls him as one of Snape`s friends.

Evan is Greek and means "of noble birth", appropriate for a typical Death Eater with pure-blood prejudices. Rosier is the name of a fallen angel (formerly holding the rank of Dominion in the angelic hierarchy).

As the maiden name of the mother of ``Bellatrix Lestrange`` and ``Narcissa Malfoy`` was Rosier, it is possible that Evan Rosier is a relative. -

Travers and Mulciber were Death Eaters. Travers was a Death Eater, who, according to Karkaroff, killed the McKinnons. Mulciber broke out of Azkaban and participated in the battle at the Department of Mysteries. He was sent to Azkaban. In Igor Karkaroff`s trial scene, Barty Crouch notes that "Travers and Mulciber, we have"; as Mulciber is later seen participating in the Second War, it is likely that Travers, having been spoken of in the same vein, also survived and escaped.Fact|date=July 2007 He may have been one of the escapees in the mass breakout of January 1996. Travers was seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He follows when Harry, Ron and Hermione break into Gringotts and is ultimately put under an Imperius Curse by Harry and forced to hide. Travers Later appears in the battle of Hogwarts, where he is fighting Parveti patil. What happened to him later is unknown. Mulciber is the Latin for "melter", and was used as a name for the Roman god Vulcan (first by Virgil). Mulciber is the name of one of the fallen angels in John Milton`s epic poem Paradise Lost. -

Yaxley

Yaxley was, according to Snape in ``Harry Potter ve Melez Prens``, one of the Ölüm yiyenler who thought Voldemort to be dead. He is one of Voldemort`s spies in the Sihir Bakanlığı. In ``Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows``, Yaxley places the Imperius Curse upon Pius Thicknesse and fights at the Battle of Hogwarts where he is defeated by George Weasley and Lee Jordan.
